ADHD

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects behaviour, social interactions and cognitive functions.

  • Core Features: ADHD is characterised by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning or development.

  • Inattention: Difficulty sustaining focus, following through on tasks, and organising activities.

  • Hyperactivity: Restlessness, excessive fidgeting, and difficulty staying seated or quiet.

  • Impulsivity: Acting without thinking, interrupting others or making decisions without considering the consequences.

ASD

ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) is a developmental condition that affects social interaction, communication and behaviour. it presents differently in each individual, with a wide range of strengths and challenges.

  • Core Features: Autism is a spectrum of conditions that affect social communication, behaviour and sensory processing.

  • Social Communication: Difficulty with verbal and non-verbal communication, understanding social cues, and forming relationships. 

  • Repetitive Behaviours: Engaging in repetitive movements or routines, strong adherence to 'sameness' or fixating on specific topics or interests.

  • Sensory Sensitivities: Over or under reactivity to sensory input, like; sounds, lights or textures.
